The Purpose of Collecting Data
Use of Tracking Cookies
Our use of tracking cookies
We use tracking cookies to help us understand how our visitors find our site, which pages are being viewed, how much time is spent on our site, and what percentage of our visitors are returning versus new. This helps us understand where our site is under performing so that we can make to make improvements and at the same time improve the user experience.
The tool we use
The reporting tool that we use is Google Analytics. Google’s analytics tool “helps website and app owners to understand how their visitors engage with their properties. It may use a set of cookies to collect information and report website usage statistics without personally identifying individual visitors to Google. The main cookie used by Google Analytics is the ‘__ga’ cookie.”
You can read more at the Google Analytics Privacy Overview. Further information is available here: How Google uses data when you use our partners' sites or apps.
What we collect
We use Google Analytics to track the following data about visitors to our site:
- Referring and exit pages
- Page Engagements (if you download a pdf for example)
- Demographics – language, country, city
- System – Browser, operating system, service provider
- Mobile – Operating system, service provider, screen resolution
Google Analytics demographics and interest reporting is enabled on our platform. This data is collected through Google's advertising cookies and anonymous identifiers in addition to data collected through a standard Google Analytics implementation. This reporting feature provides us with additional information about our visitors, including age, gender and interest categories reports.
How to opt out
Any users who would like to use our site but would like to opt out of cookie tracking are advised to download and install the Google Analytics opt out add-on (compatible with Chrome, Internet Explorer 11, Safari, Firefox and Opera). You can find it here.
