My late Grandfather Wilfred L Laurie was an engineer on S.S. Briarwood and travelled on a number of the convoys, including a number of the Independent runs.

The SS Briarwood sailed in convoys PQ3; PQ5; PQ14; INDEPENDENT; QP4; QP11; JW51A; and RA52.
