My Father was Eric George Wilson   RN number k113386.

He served on HMS Oxlip from Jan to Jun 1945 as a ‘temporary leading stoker’ and so was part of the last few convoys of the war JW65 & JW66 sailing back into the Clyde on VE day.

I attach a photo of him. Although in tropical Kit.

As a small child I remember him telling me of the cold and not taking their clothes off for 3 weeks!

My siblings were very proud to be awarded (posthumously) his Arctic star.

I had been holidaying around Loch Ewe for years before I found out that he had sailed out of the Loch in Feb  ’45.
