Fair Work First Statement and Declaration
Statement:
The Arctic Convoy Museum is a small organisation currently employing 4 payroll staff, 1 contractor and have approximately 12 volunteers. We are committed to advancing the Scottish Government’s Fair Work Policy. We confirm that we pay our staff the Real Living Wage and offer our staff and volunteers an effective voice within the workplace.
Specifically:
We are fully committed to paying the Real Living Wage to our employees and ensuring our contractors do the same. When procuring goods or services, we make efforts to ensure that our suppliers are offering the same Real Living Wage rate.
The Arctic Convoy Museum is committed to no inappropriate use of zero hours contracts. In the event that a zero hours contract were to be used, it would be at the request of the employee and for their benefit.
We have appropriate channels for effective voice from our workforce and volunteers. The opportunity exists at any time for open and effective, two-way dialogue between the Museum Board and employees or volunteers. Worker management relationships are cordial and effective.
We actively invest in workforce and/or volunteer development. Induction and training are provided for all new staff members and volunteers. The Arctic Convoy Museum supports staff and volunteers to study or undertake training that will be of benefit.
The Arctic Convoy Museums supports action to tackle the gender pay gap and create a more diverse and inclusive workplace. Staff and volunteer positions are open to all without prejudice.
