Gary Jackson, son of J. T. Jackson, has been trying to find out about his Fathers service.

J.T. Jackson served on the Orient City in either convoy number PQ2 or QP3 and it is thought that he was a Deck Boy during this time (he did not like talking about his time in the Artic Convoys due to the fact he lost a lot of good friends and the conditions which they went through).

He described it as “hell in ice “.

Gary says: “I understand my dad and his fellow shipmates went through hell to bring supplies to Russia during WWII and I would like to help keep the memory of my dad and his fellow shipmates alive for years to come. I am very proud of what my dad and fellow shipmates have done”.
