Information and photo provided by Nick Webb (son)
My father, Philip Jack Webb, served on HMS Lawson on Arctic Convoys to Murmansk, as a Depth Charge Operative. He trained at HMS Shotley near Ipswich. He was an older Dad and sadly passed away in 1993, when I was 27. He would have turned 100 on July 13th this year. We only chatted briefly on his experiences; the ‘church steeple’ high seas and frostbite on his ear.
