Information provided by Leslie Lawson.

Commander Reginald E Woodriffe, my uncle, a Greenwich schoolboy he saw active service in both world wars. In 1916 he was adrift in an open boat for two days. At the beginning of WW2 he joined the carrier HMS Argus and was involved several of the Arctic convoys later being awarded the DSC. After the war he was appointed Training Commander at HMS Royal Arthur and thousands of young recruits passed though his hands during their early days in the navy.
